Thomas Kosten: Weighing the Benefits of Vaccination in Drug Abuse Treatment

While the idea of developing vaccines to combat health risks like smoking and drug abuse sounds like a solid theory there are legitimate concerns to be addressed in the process.

Speaking at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association in Atlanta, Thomas Kosten, MD, from the Baylor College of Medicine said initial research has proven beneficial in this area but more will need to be done before larger pharmaceutical companies push it into the public marketplace.
