With projections that the number of patients with Parkinson's disease could double in the near future work is still being done to find effective treatments and cures for the condition.

Tanya Simuni, MD, from Northwestern discussed what can be done for patients with the condition now and what she hopes to see in the future for potential cures that may be developed. While symptom management is making strides Simuni said permanent fixes have not yet been found.
