Lifestyle modifications has become a popular phrase throughout medicine. However, telling patients about changes they should make and ensuring they make those changes are two very different issues in most cases.
One doctor who has been involved in moving this field forward is Regina Druz, MD, from the Integrative Cardiology Center of Long Island. Speaking at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Chicago Druz said it is not enough for doctors to simply suggest lifestlye changes their patients should make to improve their health but set strict parameters for them to follow along the way.
