For conditions like diabetic retinopathy, the earlier the condition diagnosis can be made, the better the odds are of reducing the damage done.

Working in his lab at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, Richard Rosen, MD, is developing new ways to use the technology and get better results for retinopathy, glaucoma, and other conditions. Rosen said that as more work is done, the technology is able to give a clearer picture of a patient's conditon. This not only can help them to have a better understanding of the issues they face, but also help doctors provide more targeted care as well.
