Douglas P. Slakey, MD, MPH, the head of the surgery department at Tulane University Medical Center discussed developments in his field during a recent interview with MD Magazine. Having originally come to Tulane to lead the transplant unit Slakey specializes in the hepatobiliary area of surgery which includes the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and bile ducts as their area of focus.
