DocTalk Tweet Chat "Parents and Physicians in Pediatric Care" Scheduled for July 31

JULY 30, 2019
Kevin Kunzmann
There are as many returning public health crises as there are new ones, and national narrative surrounding the best healthcare interests of children has never been louder. From vaccination debates to rising counts of trauma and mental health burden, the collaboration between pediatricians and parents is at a focal point in the US.

So let’s talk about it.

In this week’s #DocTalk Tweet Chat, Elizabeth H. Mack, MD, MS, Pediatric Critical Care division director, Pediatrics professor, and GME Quality & Safety medical director at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) joins MD Magazine® to lead a discussion on “Parents and Physicians in Pediatric Care.”

#DocTalk is a weekly conversation featured on Twitter that focuses on the biggest issues in healthcare today. Join us Wednesday, July 31, at 2 PM EST for the start of our chat, featuring co-host Elizabeth H. Mack, MD, MS (@MUSCkids).

Mack, an authoritative voice and frequently-published author on pediatric care trends, will lead discussion on the following questions and topics:
  • How has the role of a parent changed in relation to pediatric care?
  • What life hacks can pediatrician parents share?
  • What should parents be looking for in a qualified pediatrician or pediatric subspecialist for their child?
  • How can parents best advocate for their hospitalized or sick child?
  • How is current emergency/trauma care tailored to pediatric patients?
  • What current public health crises (opioids; vaccination rates; climate change; mental health) are pediatricians most concerned about?
We invite all interested Twitter users to participate in the chat and contribute their own perspective and questions.
