Patients with cardiac disease may be better off in many cases delivering vaginally but when that is not an option for various reasons doctors must be careful to address other issues during c-sections.

Speaking during a recent interview with MD Magazine Diana Wolfe, MD, MPH, discussed what can be the most critical part of ensuring the health of parent and child. Wolfe called it a "delicate" time involving a considerable amount of monitoring to determine how best to proceed during delivery.
