In a longterm condition like multiple sclerosis finding the proper treatment option can often be a difficult task. A medication was recently approved to help patients who have struggled to find that help in the past.

Ann Bass, MD, from the Neurology Center of San Antonio discussed the advantages and potential risks of the medication at the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers in Indianapolis. Bass said the medication is given in two stages over the course of two years and many patients do not need a third dose after that making it an attractive option.
