Todd Villines: Specialized Training Required for Cardiac CT Scans
AUGUST 22, 2016
Cardiac CT scans can be important in diagnosing various conditions but may not be appropriate for all cardiologists to perform. As a result, with specialized training the results can be dramatically improved to help both civilian and military patients.
Speaking at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Chicago Lt. Col. Todd C. Villines, MD, from Walter Reed National Medical Center discussed the importance of having properly trained people involved in all steps of the test. Villines said not only should the people reading the results of the tests have specialized training so they know what to look for, those performing the test should also know how to properly perform the work to ensure that the results are as thorough and complete as possible.
