There is no shortage of patients with type 2 diabetes and an equally large number of treatment options available. However, matching the patients to the correct treatment option remains a challenge for endocrinologists and those in the health care community.

Renee Amori, MD, from the Drexel University College of Medicine discussed how treatment for this condition has progressed and what the future may look like during a recent interview with MD Magazine. In addition to issues with diagnosing the condition Amori said patients also struggle with being able to afford their medications and other treatment forms.
