There may not be as many treatment options available for patients with type 1 diabetes but there are still good choices to give them a high quality of life. As the development of the artificial pancreas moves along another even better option is just out of reach.

Calling the development of the artificial pancreas the "holy grail" of the field, Renee Amori, MD, from the Drexel University College of Medicine discussed what its use and that of the insulin pump for type 2 diabetes and what that can mean for the future of the condition.
