Expanding Programs to Help the Mental Health of Caregivers
NOVEMBER 04, 2016
There is no shortage of caregivers facing the challenge of helping their loved ones on a daily basis for any number of reasons. Getting them help can be done through telemedicine in an effort to reach as many people as possible in an efficient method.
In her prior research in the field Linda Garand, PhD, MS, GCNS-BC, from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, had done a considerable amount of work in person. With her latest research, Garand said that she is looking to expand digitally in order to reach more people across the country in need of help. The program Garand is looking at now is geared towards caregivers for veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury, but she said the same approach could be used in civilian health as well.
