Charles King, Housing Works: How Social Drivers Impact HIV/AIDS Epidemic

Incepted in 1990, Housing Works, is an organization specifically serving people living with AIDS and HIV who other organization couldn't or wouldn't serve. This umbrella group, shared Charles King, President and CEO, has a dual purpose of helping AIDS and HIV patients as well as the homeless who have been afflicted with several hardships. As one of the largest community based organization in the country, Housing Works provides a full array of services from housing to healthcare to vocational training and job provision. "We've expanded beyond HIV to serve people at highest risk and people who are homeless and have other chronic conditions," said King.
