Nimalie Stone, MD, the medical epidemiologist at the Long-term Care in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), shared discussed her views on infection prevention in the nursing home at IDWeek 2015.
"It's unlikely a nursing home will have an infectious disease specialist on staff, but if they can partner with their community or hospital affiliated infectious disease practices, then the entire community is going to also benefit," said Stone.
