Scott Fridkin, MD, Senior Advisor for Antibiotic Resistance in Healthcare in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infections Diseases, CDC explained that right now what's really important is for hospital staff and healthcare providers ensure their laboratories can detect antibiotic resistance accurately.

According to Fridkin, "The more we begin to recognize how to only use antibiotics when necessary in the right dose, right time, and right patient, the quicker we're going to prevent and control transmission across the spectrum."
