Allison Schulman: Implementing New Techniques in Gastric Bypass

As with all surgical procedures, there are risks that come with gastric bypass surgery. While the procedure itself is not new, there is work being done to make it more effective and longer lasting for patients who utilize this valuable weight loss option.

As these new techniques are developed, Allison, Schulman, MD, from Brigham & Women's Hopsital in Boston, Massachusetts, says there are encouraging signs that these new adjustments could help more patients lose weight and increase their overall quality of life. Schulman discussed this research during Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2016 in San Diego, California.
