Q&A With Michael P. Pappano From the University of Pennsylvania Health System: Mindfulness Based Stressed Reduction in Multiple Sclerosis Treatment
JUNE 04, 2015
A growing trend in the medical community is the use of a technique known as mindfulness based stress reduction. While the results have shown to be inconclusive in the treatment of multiple sclerosis there is work being done to show its efficacy in helping patients.
Michael P. Pappano, MSW, LCSW, from the University of Pennsylvania Health System discussed the benefits of the treatment during the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers in Indianapolis. Pappano said that while the research may be inconclusive about the results from the technique he has seen positive outcomes with many of his patients in his own practice.
