In an age where personalization is a key selling point for many items research is being done as to whether this could apply to equipment eye surgeons use in the operating room.

David Chow, MD, from the University of Toronto discussed research his team has done in this area and what it could mean to the field during the annual meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists in San Francisco. With 3-D printing still being in its infancy in this area Chow said the future was wide open in terms of what these machines could do to help doctors operating on patients for any number of eye conditions.
