Thomas Gardner from University of Michigan: The Effects of Diabetes on Vision
MAY 03, 2016
Thomas Gardner, MD, MS, University of Michigan Medical School discussed at ARVO 2016 that diabetic retinopathy is one of the leading causes of blindness.
Gardner, however, is curious whether something could be done to restore vision in people who have had successful treatments. He believes that by understanding what diabetes itself does and what the treatments do can allow experts to think on a cellular basis what the problem is, what is actually limiting vision, and what might be done to restore it.
