Using 3-D Imaging to Help with Heart Surgery

As the technology of 3-D printing improves its uses are also growing. This includes creating more accurate models of patient hearts that can help surgeons with their work before ever making the first cut. 

Matthew Bramlet, MD, from the Children's Hospital of Illinois discussed some of the work that has been done to advance the technology and what can still be done as it becomes more common during the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions in Chicago.
